Hand Function

If your child has difficulty...

with fine motor skills, you may notice challenges with handwriting, pencil grasp, or avoidance of drawing and colouring activities. They may also have trouble managing fasteners (e.g. buttons and zippers), tying shoelaces, using cutlery, or coordinating two hands for tasks such as cutting. Other signs can include difficulty crossing the midline (e.g. passing objects from one hand to the other instead of reaching across the body), inconsistent hand dominance, and reduced dexterity for tasks like building with Lego or threading beads. We support the development of fine motor and pre-writing skills through targeted programs such as Write On, Hands On, Brick by Brick Lego Club, and Handwriting Without Tears.

Everyday Living skills

If your child has difficulty...

with self-care tasks such as dressing and undressing, managing buttons or zippers, or correctly orientating clothing. Challenges may also include reluctance with bathing, brushing teeth or hair, using cutlery, or drinking from a cup without spilling. Some children may also experience toileting or toilet training concerns. We can support these needs through the prescription of assistive technology (e.g. bathing equipment such as bath thrones and shower chairs), as well as targeted intervention programs like our Toilet Wise Program.

Sensory

If your child has difficulty...

with self-regulation, you may notice extreme emotional outbursts, frequent meltdowns or tantrums, or becoming easily frustrated. They may seek or avoid sensory experiences (e.g. messy play such as sand, water, or slime), be constantly on the go (enjoying activities like trampolines or swings), or show sensitivities such as avoiding shoes or socks, distress with loud noises or bright lights, or gagging at certain smells. Some children may also withdraw in overwhelming situations or display aggressive behaviours such as biting or hitting. We support these needs through behaviour support strategies, as well as comprehensive sensory processing assessments and targeted intervention programs, including the Alert Program, Interoception Program, and Zones of Regulation.

Mobility

If your child has difficulty …

with mobility or maintaining an appropriate sitting posture, you may notice challenges with moving independently or staying comfortably seated for tasks. They may require additional support for positioning, stability, or endurance during daily activities. We can support these needs through the prescription of assistive technology, including specialised strollers, car seats, seating systems, and manual or powered wheelchairs. We also provide equipment and strategies to improve posture and participation in everyday tasks, such as slope boards, pencil grips, therapy putty, Move ‘n’ Sit cushions, and specialised desks or adaptive devices.

Behaviour

If your child has difficulty with…

with behaviour and emotional regulation, you may notice frequent tantrums or meltdowns, challenges following instructions, or difficulty co-regulating and self-regulating. They may become easily frustrated or, at times, display physical behaviours towards themselves or others. We support these needs through behaviour support strategies, as well as sensory processing assessments and tailored intervention approaches. Our programs include the Alert Program, Interoception Program, and Zones of Regulation. We also offer Behaviour Modification Strategies.

Social Skills

If your child has difficulty with …

with social skills, you may notice a preference for their own company, reluctance to join group activities, or a tendency to observe rather than actively engage in play. They may also find it challenging to make and maintain friendships, recognise their own or others’ emotions, or demonstrate empathy. We support the development of social understanding and connection through targeted programs, including Social Thinkers – We Thinkers 1 and 2, Girls Group and Boys Club.
